The renovation of this community clubhouse focused on making existing amenity spaces more useful, comfortable, and appealing to residents. Rather than completely reconfigure the building, Wheelhouse made targeted changes to better support the many ways the clubhouse is used—from casual gatherings and games to working remotely and exercising. An existing laundry room became a dedicated business center, while the expansive central clubhouse was reorganized into smaller seating zones that give residents options for gathering in groups or settling into more intimate spaces.
New furnishings, flooring, artwork, and accessories bring greater energy to the main gathering areas while incorporating select pieces that were retained from the original space. Seating alcoves tucked between existing stone columns help define individual zones without closing them off, while a dramatic wall installation of planters adds dimension to a previously blank expanse of white space. A nearly 30-foot custom walnut console with steel fronts anchors the entertainment area beneath the televisions, providing a strong architectural presence at the scale of the room. Even the existing pool table was given new life with fresh felt that connects it visually to the updated surroundings.
The adjoining fitness center received a similarly focused transformation; replacing its dark finishes and tired flooring with a brighter, cleaner palette designed to make the community gym a more inviting part of residents' daily routines. Across the clubhouse, the renovation demonstrates how strategic changes to layout, furnishings, materials, and the allocation of existing space can significantly improve the usefulness of shared amenities without requiring a complete rebuild.
